Overview
German Element manufactures industrial heating elements to order — cartridge, tubular, immersion, band, flat, flexible, radiant and high-temperature — for water, oil, air, tanks, moulds, furnaces and labs.
That makes it an awkward thing to sell from a page. Nothing has a fixed price, and the buyer is an engineer who does not want a brochure; they want to know which family fits their job and what power it has to be. So the site is built as a catalogue that answers questions: 31 element types across 8 families, nine application routes for people who know the job but not the part, a five-question selection guide, and calculators that do the arithmetic in the page.
It is fully static, bilingual in English and Persian, hosted on Nginx behind Cloudflare.
Tech Stack
- Astro.js — a content-heavy catalogue with no client framework to ship
- Tailwind CSS + DaisyUI — one design system, light and dark
- Self-hosted variable fonts — Vazirmatn and Inter, committed to the repo, because Google Fonts is unreliable inside Iran
- Cloudflare CDN — global caching
- Nginx — static hosting
- Git automation — deploy on push
Features
- Full English/Persian site with real RTL, not a mirrored stylesheet
- Power and watt-density calculators, plus a quick estimate on the homepage
- A selection guide that narrows the range through five questions, and a side-by-side comparison of element types
- Three ways to order a custom part: by drawing, by sample, or by describing the application
- Knowledge base — selection guides, FAQs and articles, which is also what the search traffic comes for
- Quote request, drawing upload, phone and WhatsApp — an engineer gets to a human in one step
- Light and dark mode, responsive from phone to desktop
- Optimized images, lazy loading and no layout shift
Outcome
Lighthouse on the English home page: 100/100 SEO, 100/100 Best Practices, 91 Accessibility — the last one is three contrast fixes away from full marks, not a structural problem.
A static site carrying a made-to-order catalogue in two languages, where the qualifying questions a salesperson would ask are answered before anyone picks up the phone.
